Step 1 : Introduction to the question "3. 1999 to 2005 was the best time to be an American cyclist in the Tour de France. What legendary cycling figure won the world's most prestigious cycling event in seven consecutive years?"

...1. Miguel Indurain 2. Maurice Garin 3. Lance Armstrong 4. Eddy Merckx Maurice Garin won the inaugural Tour de France in 1903. Eddy Merckx, Miguel Indurain, Jacques Anquetil and Bernard Hinault each won the event five times. Indurain was the first to win in five consecutive years (1991-1995), only to have his record eclipsed by Lance Armstrong, whose achievement was made even more remarkable by his medical history. In 1996 Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer which had metastasized to his brain and lungs. His original prognosis was poor - he was not expected to survive the multiple surgeries and extensive chemotherapy treatments that were planned, let alone return to elite international cycling competition in the spectacular fashion displayed in his dominance of the Tour within a few years.

[Ans] Why is the PGA Tour name always written in all caps?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "hy is the PGA Tour name always written in all caps?"

Why has "capitalization of name of tour as branding been dismissed"? This is what they call it, even if our unsigned-in editor doesn't like it! I hate "Monster Park" for Candlestick Park, but I don't control the naming rights. Does anyone else favor reversion, or is it just me? Rlquall 02:46, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC) I didn't think that the person who wrote that was dismissing that they do, in fact, put it in all caps, but they suppressed the statement that it is done for "branding" reasons. I, for one, know that they want it written in all caps, but I don't know that it is done for branding reasons. I really have no idea why they do it. Whoever made that comment has not changed me from rewriting it PGA TOUR wherever I happen to see it. My question is: should references to "the tour" that do not rise to the level of the full name PGA TOUR, use TOUR, or Tour, or tour? My vote is simply for "tour," referring to the general, improper noun of a circuit of competition. If you use "Tour," you're saying it's a proper noun, but the proper noun is all caps, and not only would that look awkward to say that they did such-and-such on "the TOUR," I think it's unnecessary. If you were talking about NFL policies, you probably wouldn't say "League policy says xyz," but simply "league policy says xyz," "league" referring to the improper noun that is the general concept of a league instead of this specific league. --AppleFan84

[Ans] Who joined José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti to tour and record as The Three Tenors?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who joined José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti to tour and record as The Three Tenors?"

For their initial appearance together in Rome in 1990, Carreras, Domingo, and Pavarotti agreed to accept relatively small flat fees for the recording rights to their concert, which they then donated to charity. Their album unexpectedly reaped millions in profits for Decca Records, causing some resentment on the part of the tenors who officially received no royalty payments. As reported in the press, Domingo suspected that the record company paid Pavarotti on the side, in order to keep one of their top contracted artists content. Pavarotti denied this, insisting: "We got nothing." Years later his former agent and manager Herbert Breslin wrote that Pavarotti had indeed secretly received 1.5 million dollars that the other two tenors, who were not under contract to Decca, did not receive.[34] For subsequent concerts and recordings, the singers were much more careful in assuring financially advantageous contractual terms for themselves.

Step 2 : Answer to the question "Who joined José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti to tour and record as The Three Tenors?"

Plácido Domingo:

The Three Tenors were a popular operatic singing group during the 1990s and early 2000s, consisting of Spaniards Plácido Domingo and José Carreras and the Italian Luciano Pavarotti. The trio began their collaboration with a performance at the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome, Italy on July 7, 1990, the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup Final. The recording of this debut concert became the best-selling classical album of all time and led to additional performances and live albums. They last performed together at an arena in Columbus, Ohio in 2003.
