[Answer] 1. Which of the following poses another major threat to the Amur leopard?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "1. Which of the following poses another major threat to the Amur leopard?"

...1. Fire ants 2. Smallpox 3. Wild fires 4. Tornados Wildfires set by humans pose a major problem for the Amur leopard. Fires have been started in the region for years in attempts to fertilize the ground and to kill insects such as ticks. Satellite images have shown that almost 1/4 of this area burns every year. Besides the threat from being burnt, these fires chase away the ungulates that make up a large portion of the Amur leopard's diet. It has also caused many forested areas to turn into grasslands which are an unsuitable habitat for the secretive Amur leopard.

[Answer] 2. What is the BIGGEST threat to the Maui's dolphin's existence?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "2. What is the BIGGEST threat to the Maui's dolphin's existence?"

...1. Water pollution 2. Getting hit by boats 3. Food source growing smaller 4. Getting caught in fishing nets The Maui's dolphin can easily get caught in fishing nets (particularly nylon) which have been set to the spot, suffocating them and allowing them no escape, as well as being caught as bycatch. To help conservation efforts, a set net ban was put in place across the north-west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. This ban reached out to about 12.9 kilometres (or seven nautical miles) from the shore and excluded harbours. This was extended in 2012 to include Hawera, which is further south, and in this area it extended out to 3.7 kilometres (2 nautical miles). This does help conversational efforts indeed, but it still doesn't include the entire range of their distribution, which means they can still be caught in the nets outside of these banned areas. While all of the other options have contributed to their deaths to some extent, getting caught in fishing nets is definitely the biggest killer of Maui's dolphins. Another major threat is inbreeding due to the small population of Maui's dolphins.

[Answer] 1. This poses a major threat to the leatherback sea turtle when ingested, and unfortunately one third of leatherback sea turtle adults have attempted to. What am I talking of?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "1. This poses a major threat to the leatherback sea turtle when ingested, and unfortunately one third of leatherback sea turtle adults have attempted to. What am I talking of?"

...1. Cigarette butts 2. Food scraps 3. Cardboard 4. Plastic bags An estimated one third of adults have tried to ingest plastic, particularly plastic bags. They confuse them for their main prey - jellyfish. Some adults have been found with over five kilograms (11 pounds) of plastic inside their stomach. The plastic can block up their intestines or lead to malabsorption of nutrients. They are particularly prone to eating these closer to urban areas, especially around California, which uses up to 19 billion plastic bags a year. While I'm sure it would be dangerous for the leatherback sea turtles to digest the other options, there is no evidence that this has actually happened.

[Answer] What is the most significant threat to the relatively high standard of living people are accustomed to in the United States?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "What is the most significant threat to the relatively high standard of living people are accustomed to in the United States?"

...The middle-class squeeze is the situation where increases in wages fail to keep up with inflation for middle-income earners leading to a relative decline in real wages, while at the same time, the phenomenon fails to have a similar effect on the top wage earners. People belonging to the middle class find that inflation in consumer goods and the housing market prevent them from maintaining a middle-class lifestyle, undermining aspirations of upward mobility. In the United States, middle-class income is declining while many goods and services are increasing in price, such as education, housing, child care, and healthcare
