In 1990, they saw the success of Snapple and decided to move into selling canned teas, and sold their first AriZona-branded drink in 1992. So how did a Brooklyn company get a name like AriZona in the first place? Vultaggio was actually trying to find a name as distinctive as "Snapple," and chose Arizona after looking at a map.
