[Answer] 3. 7 May 1915 - The Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat. What type of ship was Lusitania?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "3. 7 May 1915 - The Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat. What type of ship was Lusitania?"

...1. Cruiser 2. Destroyer 3. Passenger liner 4. Battleship Lusitania made her maiden voyage in September 1907 and was called the 'Greyhound of the Atlantic'. She won the Blue Ribbon for the fastest Atlantic crossing. She was sunk by a U-boat off the coast of Ireland and 1,119 of her passengers and crew were lost. It is sometimes said that the Lusitania was also carrying munitions at the time when she was sunk. Even if this is true, the sinking was a massive blunder for Germany as it did much to swing public opinion in America against Germany.

On this day in 1943, while John F. Kennedy was serving in World War II as commander of the PT109, his boat was hit by a Japanese destroyer and his crew was stranded in the Solomon Islands. Lieutenant John F. Kennedy carved a distress message into a coconut shell and gave it to two natives to deliver to the PT base.
