...Important safety tip: never underestimate the importance of a snood. A snood is the red droopy flesh appendage on the top of turkey beaks. Both male and female turkeys have a snood. With females, it is just a bit of fleshy decoration. With males, it is a status symbol that plays an important role in turkey hierarchy. It seems longer snoods are more attractive to females.
