The cement he used is PH-balanced to encourage coral to settle on the sculptures and foster reef regrowth. 3. Sharks are distracted by the statues of people and don't attack other marine inhabitants or visiting divers. 4. The sculptures are made of edible material—not unlike the slow-release vacation fish feeders in home fish tanks.
