Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Which famous TV host worked as a pimp in the 1950s?"
James Lipton is the executive producer, writer and host of the Bravo cable television series Inside the Actors Studio, which debuted in 1994. The host, 86, revealed he was a pimp in Paris in the 1950s. Lipton, who wrote of his experience in the book "Inside Inside," explained that a woman he met while in France introduced him to the world prostitution. "It was only a few years after the war," he says. "Paris was different then, still poor. Men couldn't get jobs and, in the male chauvinist Paris of that time, the women couldn't get work at all. It was perfectly respectable for them to go into le milieu."
