Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Where is the world's largest pecan nursery located?"
More than 80 percent of the world's pecan come from the United States. The pecan is North America's favorite native nut, with pecan trees originating in the Mississippi River floodplain. Pecans were a major food source for Native Americans, who planted pecan trees outside the original native range of the nut trees. There are more than 1,000 varieties of pecans grown in areas where the soil is deep and fertile, abundant water is available and the growing season is long. Pecans are commercially produced in states such as New Mexico, Georgia, Oklahoma, Hawaii. and Mississippi. Georgia produces over half of the pecans in the U.S. but the world's largest pecan nursery is in the small town of Lumberton, Mississippi. Source: RMA.USDA.gov
