The "Big 3" auto manufacturers, General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler, earned Detroit the nicknames "The Motor City" or "Motown" for short. In the Detroit River sits Belle Isle, a 1,000 acre island and park. Included on the island is a nine-hole golf course, museum, and baseball, football, and basketball fields/courts. Some of Detroit's sister cities are Minsk, Turin, and, fittingly, Toyota, Japan.
