In 1987, Penn was sentenced to 60 days after punching an extra on the set of his film “Colors” while on probation from two prior assaults. Lucky for him, the Oscar winning actor only served 32 days in jail. Apparently, Penn objected to movie extra Jeffrey Klein photographing him, prompting Penn to swear and spit at Klein. When Klein spat back, Penn punched him in the face several times and had to be pulled off him and restrained by members of the crew and cast.
