...Fred McFeely Rogers was the longtime and much beloved host of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" on PBS from 1968 to 2001. Not only was he an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church, he also graduated magna cum laude from Rollins College in 1951 with a degree in music composition. He launched his iconic show in 1966 in Pittsburgh. His final show aired August 2001. Over his career, Rogers won four daytime Emmys and received the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Life Achievement Award in 1997. The Television Hall of Fame inducted him in 1999 and in 2002, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Source: Biography.com
