...1. Hop Frog 2. Jump Frog 3. Leap Frog 4. Vault Frog Leap Frog is a game we often played at school. The idea is for a line of children to stoop over and allow a another child to vault over them. The person vaulting would leap over the line of children and then stoop down at the finish to carry the line on. The child at the other end would set off and do the same. I, of course was easy to vault over, always being very small! The trouble came for me when I had to vault... (Question and interesting information submitted by peewee2)

[Ans] Who created the idea of Leap Year?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who created the idea of Leap Year?"

...A leap year is a calendar year containing one additional day added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year.

Step 2 : Answer to the question "Who created the idea of Leap Year?"

Julius Caesar:

Leap Year was “invented” back in the first century BC, when Julius Caesar and his team of astronomers noticed that their Roman calendar had somehow slipped out of sync with the seasons. They came up with a 365-day calendar that would sometimes add an extra day to the last month of the year, which was February. The purpose of adding an extra day to February every four years is to sync up the 365-day Gregorian calendar with the solar calendar, which is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds long — the (near) exact amount of time it takes the earth to revolve around the sun.

[Ans] Who originally came up with the idea of electric Christmas tree lights?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who originally came up with the idea of electric Christmas tree lights?"

The tree was traditionally decorated with "roses made of colored paper, apples, wafers, tinsel, [and] sweetmeats" the apples and and round ornaments are supposed to represent the fruit of knowledge of good and evil from the first book in the Bible, Genisis . In the 18th century, it began to be illuminated by candles which were ultimately replaced by Christmas lights after the advent of electrification. Today, there is a wide variety of traditional ornaments, such as garlands, baubles, tinsel, and candy canes. An angel or star might be placed at the top of the tree to represent the archangel Gabriel or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity. Edible items such as gingerbread, chocolate and other sweets are also popular, and are tied to or hung from the tree's branches with ribbons.

Step 2 : Answer to the question "Who originally came up with the idea of electric Christmas tree lights?"

Thomas Edison's assistant:

Before the advent of strands of electric Christmas lights, families would illuminate their Christmas trees with candles. This practice fostered many a home fire. In 1882, Edward H. Johnson, Thomas Edison's longtime assistant and friend, put together the first string of electric lights for stringing around a Christmas tree. Though Edison had fashioned a string of lights together in 1880 for display strand around the outside of his Menlo Park laboratory, Johnson's version was specifically for the Christmas tree, and the rest is history.
