Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Which three friends endured a fiery furnace?"
...Some friendships go through a furnace and come out stronger. That was certainly the case in this story. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (along with Daniel, of lion’s den fame) were brought into King Nebuchadnezzar’s palace during Babylon Captivity. Nebuchadnezzar had built an image of gold and demanded that all the people worship it. However, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship the idol, remaining faithful to the God of Israel. Furiously, Nebuchadnezzar threatened the men with death in a fiery furnace that was typically used for making bricks.
