Step 1 : Introduction to the question "What is the title of the famous poem displayed at the site of the Statue of Liberty?"
The Statue of Liberty, a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States, was dedicated in New York Harbor by President Grover Cleveland on this day in 1886. On the pedestal is inscribed “The New Colossus,” a sonnet by American poet Emma Lazarus that welcomed immigrants to the United States. Although you may not be familiar with the poem’s title, you are probably fore familiar with its most famous lines: “Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” In 1903, the poem was cast onto a bronze plaque and mounted inside the pedestal's lower level.
