Thomas Delahanty, a police officer, James Brady, the White House Press Secretary and Timothy McCarthy, a Secret Service agent, were also all wounded in the assassination attempt. Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity and committed to a mental hospital. Hinckley was obsessed with actress Jodie Foster after seeing her in the movie "Taxi Driver".
