...Mountain gorillas are the largest of the surviving great apes. They can reach a height of 6 feet and adult males can weigh over 400 pounds. Mature males are commonly known as "silverbacks" because of a silver-gray saddle they develop in maturity. Adult females may weigh as much as 200 pounds.
