...Our solar system has an abundance of moons. But if you want to see one, you'll have to look somewhere besides Venus or Mercury. These are the only two planets in our solar system without any moons. Mars only has two small asteroid-like objects orbiting it that pass for moons. Astronomers aren't sure why Venus has no moons, just as they aren't certain why the others planets have them. There are three working theories on the origins of moons.
