[Answer] Who had a big hit in 1957 with the song, "That'll Be the Day?"

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who had a big hit in 1957 with the song, "That'll Be the Day?""

..."That'll Be the Day" was one of Buddy Holly's first big hits but it was originally credited to his band, The Crickets. Holly and his band worked with two record labels at the time. One released Holly's work under the name The Crickets and the other attributed his work to Buddy Holly. The song was originally recorded in 1956 by Holly and his original band The Three Tunes. Decca records, who owned the label, didn't like the song and refused to release it. Holly would spice it up a bit with backup vocals and change the key a year later while working with his new band The Crickets. He had a new producer by this time who released the song. It would become one of Holly's first big hits. Source: SongFacts.com
