[Answer] Who was the winner of the first Stanley Cup?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Who was the winner of the first Stanley Cup?"

...The champions of the 1893 Amateur Hockey Association of Canada, the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association, were the first ever winners of the Stanley Cup. In a twist of irony, the Cup's namesake - Lord Stanley - never witnessed a championship game or saw the trophy bearing his name presented to a winning team. He returned to his English homeland during the 1893 season. The trophy he donated remains one of the most prestigious sporting competitions. Source: NHL.com
