In 2003, Madonna released her first children’s book, The English Roses, which would eventually become a five-book series with each book drawing from inspiration Madonna found through the Kabbalah religion. A moral tale, while writing The English Roses Madonna drew from her own personal experiences, including her mother's death at an early age. The book was released simultaneously in more than 100 countries worldwide and translated into 42 languages.
