Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) developed the ideas behind his laws of motion. These are perhaps the best known of this early physicist and mathematician's work. The application of his simple laws is seemingly infinite, from planets moving through space to what happens in the first few seconds of a car crash to the simple act of walking. Newton developed three Laws of Motion that are the basics when studying bodies in motion. His second law is probably the most confusing.
