Step 1 : Introduction to the question "For which movie did Paul Newman win an Oscar?"
Paul Newman turned to acting after getting kicked off the football team in college. He made his Broadway debut in 1953 and began doing television and films, eventually becoming known as one of the finest actors of his time. In The Hustler (1961), Newman played Fast Eddie, a slick, small-time pool shark who takes on the legendary Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason). Twenty-five years after The Hustler, Newman reprised his role of "Fast Eddie" in the Martin Scorsese–directed film The Color of Money (1986), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.
