Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Which outlaw was murdered by Robert Ford?"
Robert Ford was an outlaw best known for killing his gang leader Jesse James on this day in 1882 to collect a reward. Initially, Ford was charged with murdering Jesse James, but was quickly pardoned by Governor Crittenden and given a portion of the reward. For a time he and his older brother Charles made a living doing re-enactments of the killing, earning a living off of his reputation of being “the man who killed Jesse James.” In 1892 he was killed in a tent saloon in Creede, Colorado.
