[Answer] 2. It's June, and my chipmunk is happily running around my yard as usual, making little "chip chip" sounds and looking for food. I didn't see him all winter, though. Why?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "2. It's June, and my chipmunk is happily running around my yard as usual, making little "chip chip" sounds and looking for food. I didn't see him all winter, though. Why?"

...1. Chipmunks go into an inactive state called torpor 2. Chipmunks migrate south for the winter 3. Chipmunks turn white and blend in with the snow 4. I was too busy drinking eggnog and watching TV During the winter, chipmunks go into an inactive state called torpor. It isn't true hibernation, because they wake up frequently and eat the food they have stored in their burrows, and may even venture outside if the weather gets warm enough. This was a cold winter and a very cool spring, so I didn't catch a glimpse of my chipmunk until May. Unlike many animals, chipmunks don't store fat to help them make it through the winter. Torpor is very stressful to the chipmunk; many do not survive the demands it puts on their tiny bodies. In addition, despite their best efforts, some chipmunks are unable to store enough food to enable them to survive a very long, hard winter, My chipmunk is fortunate in that he gets about ten pounds of unsalted peanuts from me each year, so he isn't likely to go hungry. Chipmunks may spend up to half their lives in a state of torpor.

[Answer] 4. This little boy was the product of English folklore, and when I say little, I really mean he was SMALL! Who was this tiny son of "Thomas of the Mountain", according to the story as it was written in 1621?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "4. This little boy was the product of English folklore, and when I say little, I really mean he was SMALL! Who was this tiny son of "Thomas of the Mountain", according to the story as it was written in 1621?"

...1. Little Man Fred 2. Tom Thumb 3. Jo Jo 4. Prince Valiant Tom Thumb was an orally presented story in its earliest form, like many other tales of folklore. An introduction to the earliest version of Tom Thumb in written form in 1621 reads like this: "The History of Tom Thumbe, the Little, for his small stature surnamed, King Arthur's Dwarfe: whose Life and adventures containe many strange and wonderfull accidents, published for the delight of merry Time-spenders." In the 1621 version of the tale, a man from the days of King Arthur, Thomas of the Mountain, desired a son, not caring if he was no bigger than his thumb. His wife, after consultations with the magician, Merlin, soon gave birth to a son - Tom Thumb. Through many of the tales of adventures that Tom experienced he was often swallowed by some creature or another. Vulgarisms and questionable passages abound throughout the original stories of the diminutive young boy, but the "cleaner" and edited versions of the character of Tom Thumb have withstood the ages since, as nearly all children have heard of at least one of his adventures.

She continued, saying that the wolf ate her granny and dressed up as that old lady, and she really believed he was her granny when she arrived. Then she was eaten herself by that wolf. She was saved by a passing hunter who cut her and her granny out of the belly. Can you believe this story? A speaking wolf, who is able to swallow a grown woman and a girl in the whole without killing them? I don't. This leaves just one fact: the wolf was killed brutally and a fabulous story was made up. Verdict: Guilty of killing an endangered species!

A sociable little creature, the birds all live, sleep, feed and sleep together. Amazingly so, after their eggs are hatched, the parents are helped by other birds in the group in the rearing of the small chicks. How cute is that? They're little avian hippies.
