Step 1 : Introduction to the question "The Haagen Dazs brand of ice cream originated in which country?"
Happy National Ice Cream Day folks! Haagen-Dazs sounds exotic, but the ice cream brand was actually created in the Bronx, New York. Reuben and Rose Mattus invented the "Danish-sounding" "Haagen-Dazs" as a tribute to Denmark's exemplary treatment of its Jews during the Second World War. The name, however, is not Danish, nor did it have any meaning in any language before its creation. Their daughter claims that her father sat at the kitchen table for hours saying nonsensical words until he came up with a combination he liked.
