[Answer] How many tribes made up the original Iroquois Confederacy?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "How many tribes made up the original Iroquois Confederacy?"

...The Iroquois Confederacy was a league of five nations, or tribes, living across what is now upper New York state during the 17th and 18th centuries. The Iroquois League, as it was also known, played a pivotal role in the fighting between the French and the British as they each tried to master North America. The Iroquois Confederacy saw a sixth nation join in 1722, bringing the total to six cooperative nations. The five original tribes were the Mohawk, the Seneca, the Onondaga, the Oneida and the Cayuga. The Tuscarora joined in 1722. Source: Britannica. com
