Bessie Coleman Susan Brownell Anthony was born on February 15th, 1820 in Adams, Massachusetts and died on March 13th, 1906 in Rochester, New York. She was prominent in the temperance and anti-slavery movements and published a weekly journal called "The Revolution". Her campaigning for equal rights for women laid the foundation for the 19th Amendment of the US Constitution, which gave women the right to vote.
