Germany - Knuffingen Airport, the model airport at Hamburg's Miniatur Wunderland, is the world’s largest model airport. Built to a scale of 1:87, the airport measures 494 square feet and is based on the city’s real airport, Fuhlsbüttel. It features all the terminal buildings, runways, planes, airport parking lots and even baggage carousels you'd expect of an aviation hub. Better yet, the planes actually zoom down the runway and "take off" and fly into a hole in the wall, before circling back and landing at the other end of the airport. Knuffingen took six years and nearly $5 million to build, but has since helped Miniatur Wunderland become one of Hamburg's top tourist attractions.:
