Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is this fjord-filled canyon?"
Iceland - At over a mile long and 300 feet deep, the fjord-filled Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon is just another of Iceland’s astounding natural wonders. With steep, jagged, and often narrow walls, the roughly 2-million-year-old bedrock of the canyon is carved by the Fjaðrá river, which runs from Geirlandshraun mountain into the Skaftá river. The flow of Fjaðrá is so low that hikers can walk the canyon, only wading during some portions of their journey. At some point within the canyon, however, waterfalls impede further navigation, so hikers must turn back. If you’d prefer a dry hike, there’s also a path to walk along the canyon’s edge for a birds-eye view of the ethereal landscape.:
