Venezuela - This is one of the Sarisariñama Sinkholes of Venezuela. In Jaua-Sarisariñama National Park, visitors will find a series of four sinkholes atop a mountain in the lush rainforest. Scientists believe there might be more sinkholes in the area, but the region in which they are located is extremely remote — these particular cavernous landmarks were only discovered from the air in 1961. Hundreds of miles from the nearest road, the Sarisariñama Sinkholes contain their own tiny forests at the bottom, each of which has its own ecosystem that includes unique flora and fauna different from the rest of the park. The largest of the sinkholes is called Sima Humboldt, which is 1,155 feet across and 1,030 feet deep.:
