Wales - It’s known in English as the Welsh Parliament, but in Welsh, it’s the Senedd Cymru. Based in Cardiff, the unicameral parliament comprises 60 elected members, and its official languages are English and Welsh. The Senedd was originally founded as the National Assembly of Wales in 1999. The building it’s housed in was completed in 2006 and was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on St. David's Day (March 1). Overlooking Cardiff Bay, the Senedd building is open to the public and frequently hosts exhibitions and performances. The building was designed with sustainability in mind and is made from Welsh oak and slate. :
