In “Sidste Sang,” the poet describes a fight between a horse and a tiger, with the big cat representing the big city as a “cold and dangerous place.” Oslo eventually embraced the nickname “Tiger City” to describe itself as an exciting (rather than dangerous) place. In 2000, the city added a 14-foot bronze statue of a tiger in front of Oslo’s central railway station.:
