Former judge of “The Great British Bake Off,” Mary Berry, also attended the historic event and began the countdown to the start of the record attempt. According to Guinness, the attempt took place on Cath Kidston’s 25th anniversary and National Cream Tea Day. Members of the public were able to purchase tickets and each received one scone, cream and jam, and a cup of black English breakfast tea. In total, the record included 66 gallons of tea, 2,400 scones, and 4,100 pots of jam and clotted cream.
