[Answer] Where was the first World Sudoku Championship held?

Step 1 : Introduction to the question "Where was the first World Sudoku Championship held?"

...The number game Sudoku dates to the 18th century. It began as a Swiss mathematician's game named "Latin Squares." French newspapers in 1895 published some of the first number puzzles. The modern game we call Sudoku was the brainchild of a freelance puzzle inventor from Connersville, Indiana, named Howard Garns. The Garns version of the number puzzle was published in "Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games" magazine in 1979. It was 1984 before the game appeared in Japan, where it was called "Sudoku." Within 10 years of its introduction to Japan, Sudoku became a world phenomenon. Lucca, Italy, hosted the first World Sudoku Championship in 2006. Source: Sudoku.com
