In March 2017, General Mills announced the BuzzBee image had been removed from boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios, and replaced with a white outline of where BuzzBee used to be. This was done to in an effort to draw attention to the dwindling bee population. Added to the cereal box was a plea to "Help Bring Back The Bees."
