Baroque and Gothic-style churches dot the city, earning it the nickname the “City of a Hundred Spires." The oldest church in Prague is St. George's Basilica at Prague Castle. It's also the best-preserved example of a Romanesque church in the city. Prince Vratislav II founded St. George's in 920. A convent was added in 973. The church was rebuilt in 1142 after a fire, and the current façade dates back to 1671!:
