Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which U.S. state is home to the world's largest rose bush?"
Arizona - The tiny town of Tombstone in southeastern Arizona is actually flourishing with life rather than death (as its name suggests), as it’s home to the world's largest rose bush! The history of the beautiful rose bush is almost as unique as the bush itself. The massive rose bush grew from a Scottish rose cutting that was sent to a woman named Mary Gee in 1885. Gee, who had immigrated to the U.S. with her husband and dearly missed her native Scotland, received a box of plants, bulbs, and cuttings of flowers and plants from home. She planted the rose cutting at the boarding house she was staying at, and it began to thrive. By the 1920s, when the boarding house was bought by another couple and converted into an inn, the bush had taken on a life of its own. A custom trellis system was installed and soon the roses formed a unique awning for an outdoor patio. In 1936, the founder of “Ripley's Believe It or Not,” Robert Ripley, stayed at the inn and recognized it as the world's largest rose bush (a record it also holds in the “Guinness Book of World Records”). The spectacular rose bush hasn't stopped blooming since 1885 and there's even a whole festival dedicated to it in Tombstone!:
