Step 2 : Answer to the question "What city was the first in Asia to host the Olympics?"

Tokyo - The modern Olympic Games began in Athens, Greece, in 1896, and it took until 1964 for the first games to take place in Asia. Less than 20 years after the end of World War II, Tokyo hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics. The country spent the years leading up to those games building and renovating venues, adding bullet trains and new expressways, and of course boosting Japan’s athletic programs in order to be competitive against the rest of the world. The lighting of the Olympic torch was also symbolic. That honor went to Yoshinori Sakai, who was born on August 6, 1945 — the same day the atomic bomb was dropped in Hiroshima. The survivor stood as an homage to the victims of war and as a symbol of Japan’s determination to leave the destruction behind and to broker world peace. Tokyo is set to host the Summer Olympics a second time in 2021 (postponed from 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.) :
