Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is Iceberg Alley?"

Newfoundland and Labrador - “Iceberg — straight ahead!” Iceberg Alley is a particularly treacherous stretch of the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It sees the most ice across any major shipping route in the world. The region is where the Labrador Current — a cold, deep ocean current traveling from the Arctic — meets the warm Gulf Stream from the south. Along the way, it crosses paths with Greenland’s west coast iceberg nursery. Here, icebergs averaging 70,000 cubic feet break away from their glaciers, drift across the ocean, head north along Greenland, and then shift south toward Newfoundland. Ships passing through this region must be extra careful: Not only do they need to dodge icebergs, they must navigate rough weather, unsteady seas, and severe fog. The Titanic is one of the alley’s most famous victims, sinking about 400 miles south of Newfoundland.:
