Step 1 : Introduction to the question "What did Noah do after successfully surviving the flood? "
...In Genesis 6, Noah is described as a righteous man, blameless, and finding favor in the eyes of the Lord. But one thing we know from reading the Bible is that God is the only hero to be found in its pages. By Genesis 9, Noah has left the ark and been the mediator for a covenant between God and the world. After surviving the flood, he planted a vineyard and then began to enjoy the fruit of his labor, literally. He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. This was an issue because exposing one’s nakedness was considered to be both an embarrassment to the person and inappropriate for living in God’s holy presence. Noah was so sloppy drunk that he was unaware of his uncouth behavior. To make matters worse, Noah’s son, Ham, came by and saw his father lying naked in his tent, and then disrespectfully mocked him to his two brothers. Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it on their shoulders and walked into Noah’s tent backwards so that they could cover their father without looking at him. Noah’s behavior paralleled Adam’s in that Adam sinned through eating and Noah sinned through drinking. That parallel, and Noah’s behavior before and after the flood, direct us to look to God as the only savior, not any mortal Bible “heroes.”
