Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which U.S. state is home to these \"castle\" ruins? "
Missouri - Camdenton, Missouri, is home to the turn-of-the-century ruins of the Ha Ha Tonka Castle. It’s an unusual name, roughly translating to “big laugh” or “smiling waters,” but its history is no laughing matter. In 1905, Kansas City businessman Robert Snyder dreamed up plans for a lakeside mansion inspired by European castle architecture but never saw the end result — he tragically died in one of the state’s first car accidents a year later. His sons completed construction of the castle in 1920, but a fire destroyed the property in 1942. After the state purchased it in 1970, the property became part of the Ha Ha Tonka State Park and its once-grandiose ruins remain open to visitors today.:
