The Maglev runs only about 19 miles between Pudong International Airport and the Longyang metro station on the outskirts of Shanghai. The journey only takes about 7 minutes and costs $8. The Maglev uses magnetic levitation technology, meaning it uses powerful electromagnets to float and move the train above a special track.
