Vancouver, British Columbia - High above the Capilano River in Vancouver, British Columbia, the famed Capilano Suspension Bridge seemingly floats through the trees of the surrounding park. Originally built out of rope and cedar planks in 1889, by a man named George Grant Mackay, the bridge now features wire cables and concrete reinforcements. According to an official website for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, it can hold the weight of up to 97 elephants, or people stacked seven layers high from end to end. Perhaps not surprisingly, it has become one of Vancouver's top tourist destinations over the years. The park is also known for its Treetop Adventures Canopy Walk — a series of suspension bridges 100 feet high — and its newest adventure, Cliffwalk, which includes walkways extending from cliffsides above the canyon.:
