Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where can you find this golden shrine?"
Yangon, Myanmar - The Shwedagon Paya is one of the most sacred Buddhist shrines and also one of the most opulent. Standing 325 feet tall and spanning 114 acres, the intricate complex contains 27 metric tons of gold leaf and many thousands of gems worth, in total, around $3 billion. What makes it so religiously significant is that it contains strands of hair that devotees believe belonged to Gautama Buddha, along with relics belonging to three other enlightened figures. Although legend claims that it was first built during Buddha's lifetime, archeologists date the construction of the first building to between the 6th and 10th centuries. Over the centuries, the height of the main structure has been elevated, the complex has expanded, and frequent earthquakes have necessitated numerous repairs and rebuilding efforts. Being fortunate enough to see the Shwedagon Paya’s gilded walls gleam in the sun and touring its interior is an utterly unforgettable experience.:
