Step 2 : Answer to the question "How did God demonstrate that Aaron's sons were chosen to be priests?"
Aaron's staff grew flowers - As usual, the Israelites were grumbling. This time they were accusing Moses and Aaron of elevating themselves above the rest. “You have gone too far!” they complained. “For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourself above the assembly of the Lord?\" (Numbers 16:3) God always has unique ways of solving problems, and this incident is no different. He told Moses to collect the staff from each of the twelve chiefs, and to write their names on them. Aaron’s name was to be written on the staff of Levi. All the staffs were to be placed in the tent of meeting and the staff of the man whom God chose would sprout. Then God caused Aaron’s staff to not only sprout, but to put forth buds and blossoms and to produce almonds! It was a pretty clear answer to whom God had chosen. The Lord said to Moses, “Put back the staff of Aaron [into the Holy of Holies] … to be kept as a sign for the rebels, that you may make an end of their grumblings against me, lest they die” (Numbers 17:10).:
