Step 2 : Answer to the question "Who created The Muppets?"

Jim Henson - Everyone's favorite Muppet friends were the creation of puppeteer Jim Henson. The famously friendly group of plush friends includes Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy and has long been a favorite among children. Henson first crafted his beloved puppet friends while attending college with his future wife, Jane Nebel. The two created a show that aired on a local television station and was enough of a hit that it stayed on throughout his college years. He coined the moniker \"muppets\" for his characters as a mashup of \"marionettes\" and \"puppets\". After college, the muppets hit it big in movies and beyond. Outside of puppetry, Henson dabbled in directing, as seen in 1986's cult classic film \"Labyrinth\". Today, the Muppets rights lie with Disney, and they've appeared in major productions like 2014's \"Muppets Most Wanted\". Talk about a long Hollywood career!:
