Step 2 : Answer to the question "How long was the Berlin Wall?"
96 miles - The Berlin Wall was a physical and ideological barrier that separated the German city of Berlin from 1961 to 1989, and was fully destroyed by 1991. The wall separated West Berlin from East Germany and East Berlin. The wall was 12 feet high at its peak points and followed a 96-mile zigzag path when completed to keep the city divided. Approximately 27 miles of the wall divided Berlin, with the rest of the 96-mile structure separating the city from the East German countryside. Obviously this is one monument you can't visit today, but there's plenty of more positive attractions that are well worth the trip!:
