Step 2 : Answer to the question "Where is the world's oldest working post office?"
United Kingdom - Sanquhar in Galloway, Scotland is home to the world’s oldest working post office, as recognized by Guinness World Records. Located on the High Street, the post office was established in 1712, shortly after England and Scotland unified, and is part of the British Postal Service. The first postmen there were called “runners,” since they’d deliver parcels and letters by racing on foot to their recipients. Horses were later introduced to make delivery more efficient and easier on postmen’s legs. The second oldest working post office is located in Sweden, but it’s a full eight years younger than Sanquhar, which has been continuously working since it opened. It was renovated in 2015, and the current postmaster says a postal museum – the first in Scotland – is in his plans.\n\n\n
