Step 2 : Answer to the question "Which U.S. state is the only one that grows coffee?"

Hawaii:

The only U.S. state that grows coffee is Hawaii. The best-known Hawaiian coffee is Gourmet Kona coffee, but there are many varieties marketed on the islands. The first Spanish advisor to King Kamehameha, Don Francisco de Paula Marin, brought a coffee plant as a gift to the King in 1817. That plant, however, didn't grow. Eight years later, Chief Boki, the governor of Oahu in 1825, introduced coffee plants from Brazil. These were successfully grown and propagated in Oahu's Manoa Valley. Source: To-Hawaii.com
