ReplyDeleteI just finished watching The Case of the Witless Witness and Perry did NOT lose that case.
ReplyDeleteThese TECHNICALLY were losses but I believe in all 3 cases Perry Mason ultimately UNMASKED the REAL murderer and PROVED his clients' innocence via the appeals process.
ReplyDeleteIt's sort of misleading to say he LOST 3 cases and not clarify about the subsequent reversals.
"He lost 3 cases but ultimately won them on appeal" seems more of appropriate answer.
Although in "The Case of the Terrified Typist" Perry actually had to ALLOW his "client" to be CONVICTED because his client was an IMPOSTER passing himself off as the man named on the warrant. Exposing the identity theft, conspiracy, and real thieves and murderer was ONE of THE BEST PERRY MASON MOMENTS of the series!
